Louis Icart - Louis Icart Green Robe

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Image Size: 13 3/8 x 17 1/4″ (oval)
Paper Size: 21 3/4 x 17″ (oval)
The paper is wove and there is no visible watermark. The margins are trimmed to oval. The sheet has never been laid down. The work has been professionally conserved and there is no toning or staining to the sheet.
There are no scratches, rips, pinholes, foxing or other imperfections to the image.
The signature (lr) is strong; with the notation “171” (ll).
The copyright in the ul reads “Copyright 1924 by les Graveurs Modernes 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris,” and is clear and strong.
The hand coloring is exceptional. This is a fine impression of this scarce etching.
Overall the image is an A+ and the sheet an A-.
