Louis Icart Indiscreet Cockatoo
His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
"Buying Works by Icart." He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

The etching has been professionally conserved and is very clean. The paper is heavy wove with no watermark.
There is no light toning, acid burn, pinholes, or tears. This is a crisp, clean, sheet and image with consistent toning.
The signature in crayon is very strong (lr); the blind stamp (lc) is the EM stamp together with the notation "223" (ll). The copyright notation (ur) and the editor's notation (ul) and correct and clear and sharp.
The copyright notation (ur) reads "Copyright 1920 by the F. H. Bresler & Co, Milwaukee USA" and is strong and sharp. The publisher's notation (ul) reads “publie par L'Estampe Moderne, 12 rue Godot de Mauren, Paris 1920" and is clear and sharp.
The hand coloring is very good.
Overall the image an A- and the sheet an A-.
