Louis Icart - Louis Icart Old Yarn

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Condition Report

Image Size: 16 1/8 x 21 7/8″
Paper Size: 21 3/4 x 25 3/4″
The paper is heavy wove with a partial BFK RIVS watermark. The etching has been professionally conserved, and there is no toning to the image.
There are no rips, acid burn, pinholes, foxing, or tears.
The signature is in crayon (lr); the notation “92” appears in the (ll).
The copyright (ul) reads “Copyright 1924 by Ste. Ame. l’Estampe Moderne Paris” and the publisher’s notation (ur) reads “Publie par l’Estampe Moderne, 14 rue de Richelieu, Paris, 1924.” Both notations are correct and are clear.
The hand coloring is very good.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet is an A.
