The Louis Icart Second Glance etching fits the description that his etchings depict elegant women during the art deco period.
He created more than of 500 etchings by using different techniques. These include
etching and dry point combined with hand coloring. Furthermore, the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” describes his methods. Mainly he created full sized etchings.
But he also liked erotic illustrated books, and pastel enhanced lithographs.
Futher, he produced menu covers, advertising prints, and oils on canvas.

Condition Report

Image Size: 14 1/2 x 10″
Paper Size: 24 3/8 x 17 3/8
The paper is heavy laid. The etching has been professionally conserved.
There are no scratches, foxing, or tears but there is some roughness to paper where the paper had been painted with white gauche.
The signature is weak (lr) and there is the notation “33/100” plus the blindstamp (ll).
The hand coloring is good.
This is a good early image of this rare etching.
Overall the image is an B+ and the sheet is an A-.
