Louis Icart - Louis Icart Snow

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Condition Report

Image Size: 19 3/4 x 14 1/2″ (oval)
Paper Size: 24 1/4 x 19″ (oval)
The paper is heavy wove and is very clean. This is a loose sheet that has been professionally conserved.
There are no scratches, tears, rips, pinholes or foxing to the image.
The signature in crayon (lr) is strong. The notation “209” is in the (ll). The EM blindstamp is in the (lc).
The publisher’s notation (ul) reads “Publie par l’Estampes Moderne 14 rue de Richilieu Paris 1922” and the copyright (ur) reads “Copyright 1922 by the F. H. Bressler Co Milwaukee USA.” Both are clear and correct.
There is very good hand coloring in the lips and face.
Overall the image an A and the sheet an A.
