Salvador Dali Les Diners de Gala – 1971

The Salvador Dali Les Diners de Gala suite consists of 12 colored lithographs of ornate edible creations.   There is a separate engraving in the lower margin. The title of the etching is “Spoon on Crutches.”  The edition size is 590 with 1 – 395 on Rives.  There are 35 proofs on Rives.  There are 15 proofs on japon.
Also 195 suites are signed and numbered 1 through 195 in Roman numerals. Each lithograph is signed by Dali and the sheet size is 48 x 57 cm. The paper size is 48 x 57 cm. Dali signed each lithograph. The prints were signed in Paris.  There is some question as to who signed the prints.  This contributes to the confusion.

This is a difficult suite to evaluate.  Field indicates that the first version is authentic.  He indicates the second version may be considered authentic.  The third version is not authentic.  Be careful in purchasing this suite.
