The Salvador Dali After 50 Years of Surrealism suite consists of an introduction by Salvador Dali. Then the portfolio with complete text in English and 12 engravings. The text and engravings are enclosed in a black portfolio case with with inner folder which is in excellent condition. The sheets have full margins, loose as issued with a size of 26 x 19 3/4 in. This is from the edition of A EA on Arches published by Transworld Art. Each etching has a cover sheet with text describing the etching. Sold as the complete portfolio. The size is 22 1/2 x 15 5/8″ on 26 x 19 7/8″.

This is background information.

Dalí was known for his role in Surrealism. He was also a seminal example of celebrity showmanship. Subsequently the cult of personality is a phenomenon that dominates popular culture today. Dali was always a colorful and flamboyant presence. This is reflected by his signature cape, wide-eyed expression and trademark upturned waxed mustache. Dalí was a master of self-promotion and spectacle.
