The Salvador Dali Three Hippies (Trois Hippies) (Happy Days) 1970 is a lithograph with original etching.  Editions Graphiques Internationals published the lithograph in 1970.  Desjobert did the lithography.  Rigal did the etching.   This lithograph is on Rives.  It is signed by Salvador Dali and it is numbered 286/300. The image size is 22 x 30 3/4″.   The 25 sheet size is 1/4 x 35 1/2″.  The lithograph is in fine condition.

Background information

Dalí was known for his role in Surrealism.  He was also a seminal example of celebrity showmanship.  He was known for the cult of personality.  This is a phenomenon that dominates popular culture today. Dali was always a colorful and flamboyant presence.  This is reflected by his signature cape, wide-eyed expression and trademark upturned waxed mustache.  Dalí was a master of self-promotion and spectacle. The total tirage is 300 (Lopsinger). Field and Lopsinger are not in agreement regarding the size of the edition or the paper. According to Field there are two editions. The first is 1 – 125 on Rives.  The second is 1 – 125 on another paper. Lopsinger indicates there is a edition of 300 on Rives. Welcome to the world of Dali.
