Background information for Salvador Dali

Dalí  was known for his role in Surrealism.  He was also a seminal example of celebrity showmanship and the cult of personality, a phenomenon that dominates popular culture today. Dali was always a colorful and flamboyant presence.  This was exemlifed with his signature cape, wide-eyed expression and trademark upturned waxed mustache.  Dalí was a master of self-promotion and spectacle.

The total tirage is 225 plus proofs. There is an edition of 1 – 150 printed on BFK RIVES paper.  Also, there is an edition I – LXXV.  This edition is printed on japon nacre. There are several proofs on japon,  One of the proofs has an original watercolor. An alternative title for the lithograph is “Black Bullfight.”
