Louis Icart - Louis Icart Anticipation Etching
His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Paper Size: 23 1/2 x 29 3/8″
The paper is very heavy wove and there is no visible watermark. The margins are trimmed. The etching has been professionally conserved and is in fine condition.
There are no scratches, rips, pinholes, foxing or other imperfections to the image. The edges of the sheet are rough.
The signature (lr) is strong; with the notation “23/200” (ll) togther with the LI blindstamp.
The hand coloring is exceptional. There is a very rich burr.
Overall the image is an A+ and the sheet an A-.
