Louis Icart - Louis Icart Black Lace

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Paper Size: 22 x 15 ” (rectangular)
This is a loose sheet and the paper is heavy wove with a M ROBBE FILS watermark. The sheet has been professionally conserved. There is no toning to the sheet or image.
There no, scratches, tears, or foxing to the image or sheet. The French title is written in pencil in the (lr) corner.
The signature (lr) is strong and there is the notation “268” (ll).
The copyright (ur) reads “Copyright 1924 by Les Graveurs Modernes 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris” and is crisp and clean.
There is strong hand coloring in the lips, earrings, and hands. This is a strong impression and a crisp clean image.
Overall the image is an A+ and the sheet an A.
