Condition Report

Image Size 21 3/4 x 15″
Paper Size 35 3/4 x 24 1/2″
The paper is heavy wove and there is watermarked BFK RIVES and AD VALCKE. All margins are full and have deckled edges. The etching has been professionally conserved, is not and has not been laid down nor has it had an overmatte attached.
The etching has never been laid down. There is no light toning, acid burn or foxing. There are two tears, 3/4 and 1 1/2″ at the left edge extending into the margin (far from the image) that have been repaired. There are a few minor soft-handling creases in the margins.
The signature (lr) is strong and there is the notation “43/100” in the lower left.
The hand coloring in the lips, cheeks, ring, and flowers is moderate.
This is a nice full sheet with little damage and a very good image.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet an A.
