Louis Icart - Louis Icart Forsythia

His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Image Size: 14 1/2 x 18 1/4″ (oval)
Paper Size: 24 x 19 7/8″ (rectangular)
This is a loose sheet and the paper is heavy wove with MROBBE FILS and BFK RIVES watermarks. The work has been professionally conserved.
The are no scratches, tears, or foxing to the image.
The signature (lr) is moderate and there is the notation “47” in the lower left.
There is very strong hand coloring in the lips, and ear loops. This is a good impression.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet an A.
