His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Condition Report

Image Size: 17 5/8 x 13 1/16″
Paper Size: 23 1/4 x 19 3/4″
The paper is heavy wove with BFK RIVES and M ROBBE FILS watermarks. The etching has been professionally conserved.
There are no scratches, tears, rips, pinholes or foxing to the image.
The signature (lr) is moderate with the notation “291” (ll).
The copyright notation (ur) reads “Copyright 1924 by les Gravures Modernes – Paris” and is clear and strong. The editor’s notation reads “Editie par la Ste. les Gravures Modernes, 194 rue de Rivoli – Paris.”
There is very good hand coloring throughout.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet an A.
