Louis Icart - Louis Icart New Friends
His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

The paper is heavy wove. This is a loose sheet that has been professionally conserved.
There are no scratches, pinholes or foxing to the image or sheet. There is very minor skinning on the verso due to backboard removal.
The signature (lr) is strong. There is the notation “256” (ll).
The copyright (ul) reads “Copyright 1925 by les Graveurs Moderne 194 rue de Rivoli – Paris” and is clear and strong.
There is no toning to the sheet or image. The hand coloring is very good.
Overall the image is an A and the sheet an A.
