The Louis Icart The Prisoner etching fits the description that his etchings depict elegant women during the art deco period.
He created more than of 500 etchings by using different techniques. These include
etching and dry point combined with hand coloring. Furthermore, the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” describes his methods. Mainly he created full sized etchings.
But he also liked erotic illustrated books, and pastel enhanced lithographs.
Futher, he produced menu covers, advertising prints, and oils on canvas.

The paper is heavy wove. The etching has been professionally conserved.
There are no light toning, acid burn, foxing, scratches or tears.
The signature is good (lr), with the notation “22/250” (ll).
There is good hand coloring with a rich burr.
Overall this is a strong impression with a good rich burr.
Overall the image is an A+ and the sheet is an A+
