The Louis Icart The Replacement etching fits the description that his etchings depict elegant women during the art deco period.
He created more than of 500 etchings by using different techniques. These include
etching and dry point combined with hand coloring. Furthermore, the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” describes his methods. Mainly he created full sized etchings.
But he also liked erotic illustrated books, and pastel enhanced lithographs.
Futher, he produced menu covers, advertising prints, and oils on canvas.

Paper Size 17 3/4 x 12 3/4″
The paper is very heavy wove with partial BRK RIVES and VALECK watermarks. The etching has been professionally conserved, is not and has not been laid down nor has it had an overmatte attached. There is a horizontal crease the width of the sheet 1 1/2″ from the bottom edge to accommodate framing.
There are no scratches, rips, or tears to the paper.
The signature (lr) is strong. and there is the notation “226/250” (ll).
The image is clean and sharp with good hand coloring.
Overall the image an A and the sheet an A.
