Louis Icart - Louis Icart Untied Ribbon
His etchings epitomize the depiction of women during the art deco period.
He created in excess of 500 etchings using a combination techniques including
etchings and dry point with hand coloring as characterized in the book
“Buying Works by Icart.” He created full sized etchings, erotic illustrated books,
beautiful pastel enhanced lithographs, menu covers, posters, postcards, advertising
prints, and oils on canvas.

Paper Size 24 x 19 1/2″ (rectangular with edges unevenly trimmed)
The paper is heavy wove with no watermark. The etching has been professionally conserved. The sheet and image are very clean.
There are no scratches, rips, or tears to the image. The right edge of the sheet has some minor roughness.
The signature (lr, in image) is in crayon and is strong. The notation “No 70” appears in the (ll, in image).
The EM blindstamp appears in the lower center.
The copyright notation (ur) reads is clear and correct. The editor’s notation (ul) is clear and correct.
There is good hand coloring. Overall this is a strong impression.
I rate the image an A and the sheet an A-.
