The Salvador Dali Faust book was published in 1969.  The book contains 21 original engravings.   11 are loose as issued.  There are also 10 vignettes with text. This book is numbered 199.  It is from the regular edition.  The text is in French and the total edition with text is 293.  Dali signed the justification page.  The full sheets have embossed signatures. The sheet size is 39 x 29 cm. The size of the vignettes varies.  It has a burgundy portfolio case.

Dalí was known for his role in Surrealism. He was also a seminal example of celebrity showmanship and the cult of personality, a phenomenon that dominates popular culture today. Dali was always a colorful and flamboyant presence. This is reflected by his signature cape, wide-eyed expression and trademark upturned waxed mustache, Dalí was a master of self-promotion and spectacle. The total tirage is 731. There is a French edition and there is a German edition. Books 1-3 are on Japon. They come with one plate and three extra suites. There are 24 books (4 – 28) on Japon with 3 suites. There are 24 books (129 – 53) with two extra suite. 49 books (54 – 103) printed on Arches.  They contain one extra suite. The regular edition consists of 189 books (104 – 293) on white Arches. There are 145 books on Japon without text. Actually the tirage for Faust is a real mess.
