The Salvador Dali Le Cirque is a portfolio of six etchings with color on Arches. The image size is 14 3/8 x 20 5/8.” The sheet size is 21 5/8 x 27 1/8″. Jean Schneider published the set. The tirage 189 plus proofs. This set is number 172/175. The suite is Sold!!! However the individual etching Equilibrist is available. The Equilibrist has gold dust as part of the coloring. If the etching has been framed, there is likely light toning to the paper. Normally, this can be easily removed during conservation. However, the gold dust dissolves during conservation. To recover the original look, the gold dust, or more likely a facsimile has to be reapplied.
The individual etching we are selling has never been framed. There is no light toning. The etching is in fine condition. Everything is original.

Dalí was known for his role in Surrealism. He was also a seminal example of celebrity showmanship. Subsequently the cult of personality is a phenomenon that dominates popular culture today. Dali was always a colorful and flamboyant presence. This is reflected by his signature cape, wide-eyed expression and trademark upturned waxed mustache. The total tirage is 189. This is a small edition for Dali. There are 175 (1/175 – 175 – 175) on Arches script in color. There are 25 (EA I/XV – XV/XV) on Japon nacre and 4 parchment in black. Finally, a few EAs exist on each paper.
