Dalí, known for his role in Surrealism, also exemplifies celebrity showmanship. The phenomenon that dominates popular culture today is the cult of personality. Dalí always maintained a colorful and flamboyant presence.  This is exemplified by his signature cape, wide-eyed expression, and trademark upturned waxed mustache.
