Salvador Dali La Vida es Sueno, Life is a Dream – 1975

The Salvador Dali La vida es Sueno is an illustrated book.  Dali illustrated the book.  Calderone de la Barca wrote the text. Editorial Subirana, Barcelona published the book.  The book comes with complete text in Spanish.  It also contains 16 + 10 + 1 engravings  in color and b/w and sepia. The text and engravings are in a burlap slipcase.  The sheets have full margins.  The sheets are loose as issued with a size of 15 x 11″. This is one of 311 of the Spanish edition or Galofre edition.  The book is #50 and has a set for 10 engravings is sepia. Dali signed the justification page. The etchings are signed in the plate. The size of the vertical etchings is about 12 x 9″ and the horizontal etchings are 8 1/4 x 13 3/4″.  The text and artwork are in very good condition.

Dalí was known for his role in Surrealism. He was also a seminal example of celebrity showmanship and the cult of personality.  This is a phenomenon that dominates popular culture today. Dali was always a colorful and flamboyant presence. This is reflected by his signature cape, wide-eyed expression and trademark upturned waxed mustache.
